Remembering Chris Sievey

Remembering Chris Sievey, the creator of Frank Sidebottom, who passed away 12 years ago to this day on June 21st, 2010.

It’s peculiar how anniversaries of death seem to be more widely acknowledged rather than anniversaries of birth. Birthdays tend to be celebrated by a smaller circle of family and friends, and no doubt that is a wonderful thing.

However, when a person dies it impacts upon a far wider population who over the duration of the person’s lifespan feel touched by the loss, no matter how big or small the connection to them.

Each passing year the outpouring of love is testament to how many people Chris’s life and art spoke to and shows just how much he is missed by us all.
